Here is the result of my „WTF is AI Music“ research. I call this a generative computer-aided composition technique of generative art for music.

Generative Art is a cutting-edge form of artistic expression that merges human creativity with computational processes. It utilizes algorithms and randomness to create unique and evolving artworks. The artist sets rules or parameters, allowing the artwork to generate itself autonomously or with minimal intervention. Generative art blurs the boundaries between art, science, and technology, challenging conventional notions of authorship and inviting viewer interaction. It offers a dynamic and ever-changing experience, showcasing the harmonious interplay between human intention and generative processes.

1. The Real Digital Piano
   
   Here arises with me the curiosity, playing with a piano, microphones, effects units, a DIY program and / or a loop station. The sound space, as well as the sound-body are explored and put into a sound scene, where a work from it is to arise. The piano is provided with two partners.
   
   A: the human voice, as analog contrast, whereby also the voice can be alienated with effects.
   
   B: A.I. generator, as digital contrast, whereby also the midi track can be used again as ‚digital piano‘ and a direct piano‘ and represents a direct reflection.
   From this, a composition is to be created, which will also be performed and which will and digital composing, as well as the research of new tools of composing. research of new tools of composing will be explored.
   

2. funKI

Here I tried (three times) to improvise with Magenta Studios, Mubert to create a interactive live show between human and technology. Unfortunately, the technology here failed very often, so that a halting performance took place and at some point I turned off the machine to iimprovise with the voice and instrument, without AI

Together with S.Myselle, co-funder of the artist collective D#AVANTGARDE, we tried the ‚Text to Music‘ generator Mubert and RunwayML, an AI video generator, and created an AI MusicVideo in which I improvise with the vocals. We will release the video during Schmieder in September 2023. You can already listen to the song ‚Fuck Me Amadeus‚ and ‚Love Against The Machine‘ (in process!)

We have found out that the ‚promts‘ so the command input for the AI in the music works differently than with pictures or video. That is, the auditory format has different accesses than the visual format.

In the fall we would like to test the AI songs with an AI mastering program…. to be continued

Samplette.io is an music sampling tool that leverages the vast YouTube database to provide musicians and producers with an extensive collection of samples. It utilizes advanced algorithms to extract audio snippets from YouTube videos, categorize them by genre or instrument, and make them easily accessible to users, with its filtering options based on BPM and style. The randomize button generates new and unexpected music samples.

2. Music: Mavi Işıklar – İyi Düşün Taşın

This time I was searching for a tyrkish rock band from the 70’s. I found Mavi Işıklar with the song İyi Düşün Taşın from 1968 (Sayan Label)

3. Converter

I convert the YouTube Link into a MP3.

4. AI Music: AIVA.IO

AIVA.IO is an AI-powered platform that creates original music compositions using deep learning algorithms. It empowers users to customize the music’s mood, tempo, and instrumentation, revolutionizing the process of music composition.

Aiva come up with a ‚Solo String Ensemble‘ in Db Major with 120 BPM in a 4/4. The song in total is 2:31 min long.

I set the parameters: Jass Ensemble in original Key Db Major and generate 3 songs each zw 2:30-3:00 min

5. MIDI
Although there is an DAW in AIVA, i prefere working with Abelton, so I download the Midi Data incl the MP3
